Inoreader search results for a query across all public feeds, with the language and time filters open

What it does

Inoreader search covers everything you have collected. That includes every article of every feed you follow, your tags and saved articles, the notes and highlights you made, the files you uploaded and the Intelligence reports you generated. The search box at the top of any feed or folder searches inside it. The Search page searches everything, and you pick the scope from a list.

With Pro, you can widen the scope to all public feeds indexed by Inoreader. That means searching millions of articles from sources you may never have heard of. You can filter the results by language, by time period and by whether the match is in the title or the text, or narrow the search to a featured collection of trusted sources on a topic. To make the query precise, use phrases, AND, OR and NOT, or mentions of a company, product, place or person. The query builder can write the query for you.

When you want to keep up with a subject rather than look it up once, turn your search into a monitoring feed with one click. From then on, every new article that matches your query is delivered to that feed automatically, and you never have to search for it again.

How it works

  1. To search inside a feed or folder, type in the search bar at the top of it. To search your whole account, open Search.
  2. With Pro, switch the scope to all public feeds or to a featured collection to search beyond what you follow.
  3. Refine the results with the filters, or open the query builder to add phrases, operators and mentions.
  4. To keep receiving new articles that match, turn the search into a monitoring feed with the button next to the search bar.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does search cover?

Search covers everything in your account, including your feeds, folders, tags, saved articles, annotations, uploaded files and Intelligence reports, as far back as the articles were collected. With Pro, it also covers every public feed in Inoreader, whether you follow it or not.

How do I search inside one feed or folder?

Open the feed or folder and use the search bar at the top. The results are limited to that feed or folder. On the Search page, you can pick the scope from a list instead.

Can I search feeds I do not follow?

Yes, with Pro. Choose all public feeds, or one of the featured collections of trusted sources on a topic, and the search runs across millions of articles from the sources Inoreader indexes.

Which operators and filters are there?

You can search for exact phrases in quotes, use AND, OR and NOT, and choose whether to search the title or the content. There are also filters for language, time period, match type and order. The query builder offers the same options in a form. In it, you can add a company, product, place or person as a mention instead of a keyword, so a search for Apple the company does not bring back the fruit.

Can I get new results for a search automatically?

Yes. Click the button next to the search bar to turn the search into a monitoring feed. You do not have to run the search again. Every new article that matches your query arrives in the feed as it is published, and the feed sits in your account like any other.

Do the apps search too?

Yes. The iOS and Android apps search your account and, with Pro, all public feeds, with the same scopes and filters.
