What can I search for with Global search?
Any words or phrases that appear in the titles or text of articles from the public feeds Inoreader collects, combined with AND, OR, NOT, quotes and parentheses. Global search reads article titles and content, not authors, feed names or links.
Write a query
Every word you type is required by default. Put a phrase in quotes to match it exactly, join alternatives with OR, exclude a word with NOT and group parts with parentheses. A trailing asterisk matches word endings, so "subsid*" finds subsidy and subsidiaries. An asterisk at the start of a word isn't allowed. The Search query syntax help in the search box lists these operators, and How can I combine search conditions? walks through examples.
If you'd rather not type operators, click the Build your search query icon in the search box. The dialog builds the same query from rows with + OR, + AND and - NOT, and its Search in list covers the public scopes and collections. The blog post Making complex searches easy with our new query builder introduces it.
Choose where to look
- Click Search in the tab bar and switch Search in to All public feeds.
- Type words, a phrase in quotes, or a query with AND, OR, NOT and parentheses, and press Enter.
- Narrow the results with Match, Language, Order or Specific period above them.

All sites searches every public feed with at least three followers plus the feeds you follow, Popular sites feeds with 100 or more followers, Most popular sites feeds with 1,000 or more, and a Featured Collection one collection's feeds. The search covers the past year by default. All time reaches back through every year. Match limits it to Titles only or Content only, and Language (Pro) to one language. What is Global search? explains the scopes and Can I filter Global search results? the filters.
Search for companies, people and places
Global search matches a company, person, place, product or event as words in the text. A mention page, which opens when you click a mention in an article (Pro), lists the public articles that mention that entity under In public feeds. What is the difference between a mention and a keyword? compares the two.
Keep receiving new matches
Any search can become a monitoring feed: click Create monitoring feed next to the result count, and new articles that match arrive in that feed from then on.
Plans and limits
The All public feeds tab is a Pro feature, Team plans included. On Free it shows one result and an upgrade prompt. The feature page Find any article in your feeds and beyond has an overview.
