YouTube in your RSS reader: follow channels, playlists and your subscriptions as feeds
Every channel you follow becomes a feed, and new videos arrive in upload order next to your other reading. Your YouTube subscriptions can sync in, and Shorts can be kept out.

- ProPro adds subscription sync and the Shorts filter.
What it does
When you follow a channel or a playlist in Inoreader, every new video arrives as an article with YouTube's player embedded. The videos come in upload order, in a folder you choose, next to the websites, newsletters and podcasts you read, so you can catch up with your channels at your own pace.
If you connect a YouTube account, your subscriptions sync into Inoreader as feeds and stay up to date as you subscribe and unsubscribe on YouTube. The Shorts filter keeps short videos out of a folder. Because a video is an article in Inoreader, filters can keep only the videos you want, rules can tag or forward them, and search finds them later.
How it works
- Open Add feed, paste the channel or playlist address or search for the channel by name, and follow it.
- To bring in all your subscriptions at once, connect your YouTube account under Preferences, Share, save, login, and turn on the sync.
- Put the channels in a folder. If you want to keep Shorts out, turn on the Shorts filter in the folder's properties.
- Open a video to watch it in the article, or save it to Read later.
What people use it for
All your channels in one place
Put the twenty channels you actually follow in a folder. You see every upload in order, and you get to them at your own pace.
Talks and lectures to catch up on
Follow conference channels and lecture series as feeds, and save the talks you want to watch to Read later so they wait for you in one place.
Keeping Shorts out
Some channels post a short every day and a real video once a week. Set the folder to leave out Shorts, and you see only the real videos.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I get the RSS feed of a YouTube channel?
Paste the channel's address or its name into Add feed in Inoreader, and Inoreader finds the channel's feed for you. Follow it, and new videos arrive as articles with the player embedded. Playlists work the same way.
Can I sync my YouTube subscriptions?
Yes, on Pro. Connect your YouTube account under Preferences, Share, save, login. Every channel you subscribe to on YouTube then becomes a feed in Inoreader, and the feeds stay in sync as you subscribe and unsubscribe.
Can I hide YouTube Shorts?
Yes. Turn on the Shorts filter in a folder's properties, and Shorts from every channel in that folder are left out.
Do videos play inside Inoreader?
Yes. Each video arrives as an article with YouTube's own player embedded, so you can watch it right where you read.
Do I need a YouTube account?
No. You can follow channels and playlists without any account. You only need a YouTube account to sync your subscriptions.
Why follow YouTube in an RSS reader?
You see every upload from the channels you chose, in the order the videos were published, together with the rest of your reading. Folders, filters, rules and search work on videos just as they do on any other article.
