Integrations: send the articles your feeds collect to Zapier, IFTTT, n8n and your own webhooks

Inoreader collects the articles, and your other tools can act on them. Every new article in a feed, folder or tag can start a Zap, an IFTTT applet or an n8n workflow, and a rule can post matching articles to any webhook as JSON the moment they arrive.

What it does

Inoreader gathers the news you follow, and you can pass it on to the tools you work in. Connect your account to Zapier, IFTTT or n8n, and every new article in a feed, folder or tag you choose can start an automation. The same goes for every article you tag or save. The automation can post a message in Slack, add a row to a spreadsheet, create a page in Notion, publish a post on social media, send an email or create a task. Each platform has an official Inoreader app or node, so setting one up comes down to picking a trigger and an action.

The connections also work in the other direction. An automation can tag an article, save it to Read later or create a new article in your account from any text, so reports from other tools are filed next to the articles they are about.

If you run a system with its own backend, add the Trigger webhook action to a rule. Inoreader then posts every matching article as JSON to an address you choose as soon as it arrives. You do not need to poll for new articles or write an API client.

How it works

  1. In Preferences, open Share, save, login and connect Zapier, IFTTT or n8n to your Inoreader account.
  2. In the platform, choose an Inoreader trigger, such as a new article in a feed, folder or tag, and then the action in the app you want to send it to.
  3. To send articles to your own endpoint, create a rule with the conditions you need and add the Trigger webhook action with your address.
  4. Watch the first articles come through. If too much arrives, narrow the trigger with a filter or a folder.

What people use it for

A news channel in Slack

Create a monitoring feed for your company and its competitors, and post its articles to a Slack channel as they arrive, through a rule or a Zap.

A content calendar in a spreadsheet

Tag an article "share" in Inoreader, and it is added to a Google Sheet with its title, link and date for the social media team.

Feeding an in-house tool

Set up a rule on a folder of regulatory sources with a webhook, and each new document goes straight into the compliance team's system.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which services does Inoreader connect to?

Inoreader connects to Zapier, IFTTT and n8n, each through an official Inoreader app or node, and to webhooks at any address you choose. Through these platforms, your feeds can reach Slack, Google Sheets, Notion, Discord, social media, email and the thousands of other apps they support.

What can start an automation?

An automation can start from a new article in a feed, a folder or a tag, from an article you have just saved, or from a rule that matches an article. When you tag or save an article in Inoreader, it goes wherever the automation sends it.

Can an automation put articles into Inoreader?

Yes. The Zapier, IFTTT and n8n actions can tag an article, save it to Read later or create a new article in your account from any source. That way, a report or a document from another tool is filed together with your reading.

How do webhooks work?

Add the Trigger webhook action to a rule and enter the address. Inoreader posts each matching article to that address as JSON the moment it arrives, in the same format as the API's stream contents. A single rule can call several webhooks.

What about Slack and Microsoft Teams?

Rules send articles to Slack and Microsoft Teams channels directly, without a third-party platform. Team members who share an article with a comment can send it there directly as well.

Do I need a developer?

No. You build Zapier, IFTTT and n8n automations in the browser from ready-made triggers and actions. The API is there for the cases that go beyond them.
