Save to other services: send any article to your notes, bookmarks or drive with one click

If your notes live somewhere else, that is fine. Connect the services you use, and you can send any article you read in Inoreader to your notebook, your bookmarks or your drive with one click, along with its highlights and tags.

The Share, save, login preferences in Inoreader with the connected services

What it does

You read in Inoreader, but the articles you keep often belong somewhere else. Connect your services under Preferences, Share, save, login, and each one appears as an icon in the sharing bar under every article. Use Evernote and OneNote for notes, Raindrop.io and Instapaper for bookmarks, Readwise for highlights, and Google Drive and Dropbox for files. Google Drive saves each article as a Google Doc and Dropbox as a PDF, and both also keep a backup of your OPML file. One click sends the article with its title, source, link and text, together with your tags and highlights where the service accepts them.

On Pro, a rule can do the clicking for you. Every article that matches a tag, a keyword or a source can be saved to the service as it arrives, so a research notebook or a bookmark collection fills up from your feeds on its own.

How it works

  1. In Preferences, open Share, save, login and connect a service. You sign in to the service once and authorize Inoreader.
  2. Arrange the sharing icons in the order you want. Your connected services appear under every article.
  3. Click an icon to save an article. It reaches the service within seconds.
  4. To save with a rule, choose a trigger and conditions, then add the Save to action with the service.

What people use it for

A research notebook

Save the articles on a project to Evernote or OneNote with their highlights. The tags you give them in Inoreader appear in the notebook as well.

A reading archive

Send your highlights to Readwise to review them, and the articles themselves to Raindrop.io.

Files for the record

Have a rule save regulatory notices from a monitoring feed to a Google Drive folder, where people who never open a reader can find them.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which services can I save to?

You can save to Evernote, OneNote, Raindrop.io, Instapaper, Readwise, Google Drive and Dropbox. Connect each one in Preferences, under Share, save, login. You can reach any other app through Zapier, IFTTT or n8n, and you can also email, print or save any article as a PDF.

What exactly is saved?

Inoreader saves the article with its title, link, source and text. Services that accept them also get your tags and highlights. Raindrop.io receives the tags and highlights, Readwise the highlights and notes, Evernote and OneNote the article as a note, Google Drive a Google Doc and Dropbox a PDF.

How do I save an article?

Click the service's icon in the sharing bar under the article. The bar shows the services you connected, in the order you arranged them in Preferences.

Can it happen automatically?

Yes, on Pro. A rule with the Save to action sends every matching article to the service, so a tag or a keyword fills a notebook for you. Rules save up to 150 articles a day per service, or up to 500 a day to Dropbox and Google Drive.

Do I still need Inoreader's own saving?

Read later, tags and saved web pages are built in, free, searchable and available offline in the apps. Saving to a service is for the articles that belong in a tool you already use.

Can I bring my saved articles in?

Yes. Saved web pages and the browser extension save any page into Inoreader, and you can import your feeds from another reader with an OPML file.
